fore-aft location for mounting engine

fore-aft location for mounting engine

Postby wjcalhoun on Tue Aug 05, 2008 11:19 am

Hi guys
I'm building a Sig Four*, and am trying to figure out how far forward, or aft, i should mount the engine (OS AX75). No firewall-to-thrust washer dimension in the manual. Obviously, the prop has to clear the fuse. Since the engine is heavy, and out so far, moving it would affect the CG. Are there any general rules of thumb for setting the fore-aft position of an engine?

Thanks
